“Nyaung Oak” means a group of Banyan trees. Nyaung Oak is not a single structure, it’s a group of pagodas found immediately behind the village. A part of them are ruined and the others are reconstructed from 17th to 18th century. The ancient pagodas may be crumbling, but the intricate details can still be seen, such as the elaborate stucco carvings are still apparent
At the top of the hill where the pagodas are situated, visitors can have a magnificent view of surrounding area. A Buddha image which was enshrined in a whitewashed stupa found on the summit of a hill is here and there.
