Karaweik - Yangon
Yangon, also known as Rangoon, is the former capital of Myanmar (Burma) before Naypyidaw was founded in March 2006. Having the largest number of colonial buildings influenced by British, Burmese and Chinese in Southeast Asia today, Yangon becomes the live museum of 19th-century British colonial architecture. In addition, Yangon has earned the name “The Garden City of the East” thanks to the beauty of magnificent pagodas, shady parks, peaceful lakes and the dynamic life of a commercial centre.
The heart of Yangon is impressive Shwedagon Pagoda. No building dares to be higher than the ancient stupa tower Golden Spire of Shwadagon Pagoda, which is almost 100 meters high and visible from miles away. It was recognized as a wonder of the world and the most revered pagoda in Southeast Asia.
