This 13-Day vacation covers all Cambodia’s main attractions and gives students a deeper look into the country’s historical culture and emerging renaissance by heading off the beaten path. The students begin from Phnompenh, where they dedicate volunteer time with local Cambodia school. The students will study about Cambodia’s history, visiting museums and the notorious Killing Fields and then travel south to the Kirirom National Park then onto the beautiful turquoise waters and sandy beaches of Sihanoukville. This trip takes you on a discovery of Cambodia’s ancient spirituality with the awe- inspiring Khmer Temples outside Siem Reap, including the famous Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom. DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arival in Phnom Penh – Welcome Dinner

Warmest welcome to Phnompenh. You will be met and transferred to the hotel. If time permits, take a guided Tuk-Tuk tour to see the highlights and key sites of the small, enchanting capital. We visit the Russian Market before dining in one of Phnom Penh’s finest restaurants.

Day 2: Phnompenh City tour
This morning, visit the Killing Fields, Tuol Sleng Prison and the Royal Palace – significant sites of the infamous Khmer Rouge regime. In the afternoon, volunteering to teach English as a specialized service project for low-income children.

Day 3: Phnompenh – Cambodia Living Arts
Today, we spend touring the facilities, sitting in on classes and meeting the exceptional students. Also, try our hand at some of the more unusual instruments. Lunch is with the students. In the afternoon, free time ate leisure.

Day 4: Kirriom National Park
Enjoy breakfast then we drive to Kirirom National Park to discover Cambodia’s natural beauty and complexity”. Spend the day on guided treks through the park, stopping for a picnic lunch in the beautiful Chambok waterfall. In the evening, we return to the Kirirom hotel.

Day 5: Kirirom National Park
After breakfast, spend the full day trekking through Kirirom’s various ecologies. Visit the Cardomom and Elephant Mountains to see the large selection of wild animals that live on the preserves, including leopards and tigers.

Day 6: Kirirom National Park – Sihanoukville
Take an easy trek to visit some of Kirirom’s famous waterfalls and lakes before embarking a drive to Sihanoukville. Upon arrival, balance the rest of the day at free leisure for relaxing or strolling around the town.

Day 7 – 8: Sihanoukville
Enjoy two days basking in the sun and exploring the ecological beauty of Sihanoukville. Explore the local marine life snorkeling and kayaking in the bay and take guided treks through the countryside. Here we dine on fresh seafood and unwind on some of the world’s most beautiful coastline.

Day 9: Sihanoukville – Siem Reap
Today we fly to Siem Reap – a home of Angkor temples and once-capital of the ancient Khmer empire. We begin our temple tour with the early-Angkor era Roluos Group, exploring the overgrown sandstone towers of Preah Ko, Ba Kong and Lo Lei. Next, we continue on our temple adventure.

Day 10: Siem Reap – Angkor Temples
This morning is dedicated to an extensive tour of the magnificent 12th  century Angkor Wat. Explore Sras Srang, Banteay Kdei and the overgrown Ta Prohm. Afterward, visit Angkor Thom’s eerie
Buddha-lined South Gate, the famous Bayon, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.

Day 11: Siem Reap – Cambodian Landmine Museum
Start the day by visiting the Women’s Citadel, Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre. After lunch, we spend the afternoon at the Cambodian Landmine Museum. Then, engage in an English-lesson service project and volleyball game with the students who live and learn in the adjacent orphanage.

Day 12: Siem Reap – Tonle Sap Lake
After breakfast, take a walking tour through a tranquil Siem Reap neighborhood before a short drive to Tonle Sap Lake. Board a local boat for a late-morning cruise through the famous floating villages and admire the cotton clouds perfectly mirrored on the lake’s smooth surface. We return to Siem Reap for lunch then pass the afternoon in relaxation.

Day 13: Siem Reap Departure
Free at leisure shopping at Siem Reap’s main market before getting on board flight back home.
