ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Luang Prabang

Welcome to Luang Prabang – Laos!
On arrival at Luang Prabang Intl’ Airport, meets and transfers to hotel for check in. If time permits, your orientation walk to the Royal Palace Museum. Then head to the magnificent Wat Xiengthong and to visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrines of Wat Aham and Wat Mai.

Day 2: Luang Prabang – Big Brother Mouse – Ban Khia Luang – Pak Ou Caves

Start the day as local day – we begin visiting to the Big Brother Mouse shop to select some books for the village visit. Then journey to Ban Khia Luang village for visiting the school and playing with the kids. In the afternoon, drive to Ban Khoklin for a private boat trip down the Nam Ou River to Pak Ou Cave.

Day 3: Luang Prabang – Kuang Si Waterfalls and Ban Chan

Cross the Mekong River by boat, to the picturesque village of Ban Chan. Afterward, visiting Phousi Market and local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay, a Hmong village, Ban Ou a Laoloum village and Ban Thapene, a Khmu village. Continue the journey to beautiful Kuang Si Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the pools or walk along the forest trails.

Day 4: Luang Prabang – Xieng Khouang

Today, we drive through wonderful natural scenery to Xieng Khuang. The journey will give you plenty of opportunities for photos and visiting hill tribe villages. Upon arrival, we transfer out to visit Site 1 of the Plain of Jars, an impressive archaeological site where hundreds of large stone jars are scattered all over the plateau.

Day 5: Xieng Khuang – Plain of Jars – Muang Khoun

This morning, visit the interesting Central Market in Phonsavan, the MAG exhibition and Site 2 of the Plain of Jars before taking a short scenic trek to Site 3 via a Tai Dam and Lao Leum village. Then, have a half day morning tour seeing the old capital of Muang Khoun and the nearby villages, home to the Hmong hill tribe and Tai Dam people.

Day 6: Xieng Khuang – Muang Khoun – Vang Vieng

This morning we visit the interesting Central Market in Phonsavan, and then we transfer to Vang Vieng by road, arriving there mid afternoon. Overnight in Vang Vieng.

Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Accommodation: Hotel in Vang Vieng.

Day 7: Vang Vieng – Half day tour – Vientiane

As part of our half day tour of Vang Vieng, explore the famous caves of Tham Jang. Then we cross the river to Ban Huai Ngai, a very pleasant village where we can explore the different lifestyles of the locals. Following lunch we head south to Vientiane before sunset.

Day 8: Vientiane City tour

After breakfast, we visit the major temples of Vientiane including the oldest – Wat Sisaket, Wat Prakeo and Laos national icon, Luang Stupa, Stop at Patuxay Monument for taking photos before journey back to Vientiane.

Accommodation: Hotel in Vientiane.

Day 9: Vientiane – Pakse (Champasak) – 4000 Islands

Morning flight Pakse. Upon arrival at the airport, we drive south to Champassak and to visit the fascinating pre-Angkorian ruins of Wat Phu, Explore these intriguing Khmer ruins, which are perched at the base of Mount Phu Kao. Following lunch, we continue our journey by road and long tail boat to the 4000 Islands area.

Day 10: 4000 Islands

After breakfast, we explore Khong Island. Continue our exploration of the area of the 4000 islands by boat and visit the beautiful Liphi waterfall, also known as the Samphamith. Return to Ban Nakasang and drive to the famous waterfall of Khone Phapeng – the largest waterfall in South East Asia.

Day 11: 4000 Islands – Tad Lo – Pakse

Drive to Bolevean Plateaufor exploring a spectacular Tad Fan waterfall with twin waterfalls plummeting into a deep gorge surrounded by flourishing vegetation. Arrive at Tad Lo in the evening, home to another scenic waterfall and numerous ethnic minority groups. Spend time discover the villages of Alak, Nge, and Katu before returning to Pakse.

Accommodation: Hotel in Pakse.

Day 12: Pakse Departure

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be free to explore the city until Far East Vacation transfers to the airport for your onward flight.
