WELCOME TO MONYWA
Monywa is a town located in the dry zone of Central Burma West of Mandalay. While the area has not had a large flow of tourists just yet, the town and surroundings still host a number of great attractions. The valley Monywa is filled with farms, shining pagodas and little villages. This place is best known for two Buddhist monasteries located near each other South East of town: Thanboddhay temple and Giant Monywa Buddhas. On Twin Taung hill near Budalin, there is an extinct volcano with a lake in its crater. Visitors may find a great adventure there by climbing to the top of the volcano and enjoy the breathtaking views from above as a reward.
