This archaeological city is located near Myanmar's western border, Marauk-U is the second largest temples center of Myanmar tourism, just after Bagan. There are 700 temples located in the middle of a large countryside filled rice fields and goat farms. These temples are built of stone bricks, unlike mud and clay brick temples in Bagan. Typical temples everyone should visit are Shite-thaung, Lemyethna, Ratana and Lawka Man Aung Pagoda. The most spectacular and most archeological meaning is Shite-thaung pagoda. Visitors can take a boat along the Kaladan River and then explore the architecture as well as the culture of this land.
