Vientiane

WELCOME TO VIENTIANE

Vientiane, Laos' national capital, mixes French-colonial architectures with Buddhist temples. Many of Vientiane's landmarks are within blocks of the Mekong River, flowing along the western edge of the city, such as Wat Phra Kaew, or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, which is now a museum of historic Lao objects. You may promenade on the river banks at sunset or climb up to Patuxai Victory Monument for a panorama view of the city. Plus, wandering to night markets offering souvenirs and handicrafts is also an indispensable experience for visitors. These cultural and beautiful little things will always remind you of a peaceful city.
